Urla winery located 35 km west of Izmir, was founded by Can Ortabaş in 2006. He had a vision to revive viticulture in the area after he discovered some ancient wine vessels and now his dream has become true. He now has 140 hectares of vineyards, growing both international and indigenous varieties. This area where Urla is located was a small part of the region of Anatolia, which has a history of making at around 6000 years.
